OMG, it’s Robbie!
This one happened during my last year of high school.
My mother worked at some big and fancy hotel in Milan, Italy, in the HR Dept. so she would come in & out of the staff entrance. One afternoon I was supposed to go there and wait for her to get out and go home. So… I arrive at the hotel and instead of standing in front of the staff entrance like a porter, I start walking up & down the sidewalk. At some point, I see 3 teenagers, I think they were just a couple of years younger than me. They rush to the main entry, harass the real porter to let them in because they absolutely had to see ROBBIE!!! They were all excited, jumping like crazy. The porter obviously replied NO WAY! There was no Robbie in the hotel, I donno watcha talking about…
I was a little closer to the staff entrance, which was next to the garage exit. And a dark sedan comes out. I look at the car and see Robbie Williams inside. Of course, I don’t make a move.
3 nano-seconds later the kids arrive shouting like crazy. OMG OMG! Have you seen Robbie?!? OMG OMG!!! aahhhh… *semi-fainting on the sidewalk* was he there??? OMG OMG!!!
me: ah yes… I think he just went away in that car over there.
kids: aaahhh!!! and you didn’t stop him???
me: ehm no…
kids: did you talk to him??
me: no… -I say laughing-
kids: OMG! That was really Robbie!!!! whaaaaaa….. *tearing off their hair*
me: *whatevah… face*
So… I saw Robbie Williams, the guy from Take That. Remember the Take That Vs. N’Sync years? Well, I guess I’ve never been a huge fan of boybands. And those kids must have thought I was completely crazy for not stopping Robbie’s car with my own body
I’m sad to say that I’m not sure who Robbie Williams is. Now, N’Sync, Backstreet Boys – those I know. There are few people I’d throw my body in front of a moving vehicle for, though so I’m glad you didn’t do that. How else would we have come to hear your engaging stories and share time together? : )
hehe, thank you, Judy
oh, by the way… very nice avatar photo!
Thanks – I wish I could claim his as my significant other, but all I can say is that they are my dreams and I have always dreamed BIG! lol
I never understood how fans could be so outwardly excited! I mean, I’d feel the same way if one of my favorite celebs were in the same area as me, but I tend to keep my fangirl tendencies inside – it’s a lot less embarrassing for everyone involved!
This coming from the person who made up a fake phone call just to walk by Jerry Seinfeld again… hahaha
The only 2 songs of Robbie Williams I know are “Angels”, which Jessica Simpson also did a cover of, and “Millennium”.
You might recognize “Angels” if you heard it:
Yeah, I don’t get it either. I may be excited, but I keep it to myself, lol…
Quite a few of Robbie Williams’ songs were big hits in Italy. Millennium, Angels, Regrets, Strong, She’s the One, Supreme… then there’s one I really don’t like, he sings with Nicole Kidman…
The one song I remember and I can relate to both the video and the lyrics is Feel. I also like the simplicity in the music. Few notes, but nice effect nonetheless…
