The ultimate near miss… on a movie set!
A while ago, in 2004… I was in Rome, wandering around the set of Ocean’s Twelve for 2 days, visiting a friend who was an extra on it. I saw almost the entire cast except Brad Pitt (spotted Jennifer Aniston around). I even saw the director but someone had to tell me he was the director because I had no idea what Soderbergh looked like.
I did cross George Clooney a couple of times but the first time I was talking to Bruce Willis (cut me some slack), the second time I was at the bar with my friend and CG just walked by behind my back and the third time I was looking in the opposite direction, I didn’t see GC waiving hello, I was too distracted. I hope Mr. Clooney isn’t too touchy, I basically ignored him.
Elliot Gould was also very nice and Julia Roberts, well, I think Julia must have mistaken me for someone else because she said hello from 2 trailers away, just like I was someone she knew. I said hello but I’m sure I must have had a surprised look on my face “is she really saying hello to me??”…
Those had been two very funny days, having a good time with some really nice people. And unintentionally ignoring George Clooney 3 times in maybe 36 hours.
Faced with the idea of talking to Bruce Willis (who just gets finer with age, imo) and George Clooney, I’d have been too tongue tied to talk to either. However, GC has always seemed very down to earth, so maybe being ignored by a pretty girl was a dose of reality for him…
yeah, I don’t know… I’ll ask him, if there’s ever gonna be a “next time”
Besides, I do remember one girl called me b***h behind my back. She was all dressed up and I have no idea what she was expecting for. I had jeans and a t-shirt and I was talking with Bruce Willis.
One of my best friends laughed at me because the t-shirt got shrunk in the washing machine and I threw it away. She thought I could have sold it on ebay anyway, lol…
